7 steps to help you reach your goal
The key to achieving any goal is the daily execution of at least one action that will bring you closer to what you want.
In February 2003, the US newspaper USA Today published the results of an interesting study. A year before, the participants of the experiment set goals for the coming year. As a result, only 4% of those subjects who did not record their goals were able to follow them. And among those who kept New Year’s promises in writing, the percentage of those who could fulfill them was 46%.
The conducted research shows that one goal setting is not enough. A concrete plan is needed to achieve them. Use a special formula that will help you in developing an action plan.
The formula of seven steps
Determine what you want to achieve in any area of activity. Clearly formulate your desire and write it down in detail. So you set a specific goal , which will always be in sight.
Set the deadline for the goal. If this requires a lot of time, break it into several parts. For each intermediate goal, also set your deadline.
Make a list of everything that needs to be done to achieve this goal. The list can be replenished as needed.
Form a plan from your list of necessary actions. Prioritize and determine what needs to be done first. Some actions you can do only after the completion of others. Arrange them in the desired sequence.
Remember the rule 20/80 : 20% of efforts give 80% of the result. Do not focus on small things that do not bring much benefit.
Identify obstacles that may hinder the achievement of the goal. Perhaps you lack a certain skill or some information. Try to eliminate the limiting factors and get the necessary.
After the previous steps, start work immediately. Trust your intuition and do what will bring you closer to the goal. The main thing is to start moving in the right direction.
Form a habit every morning to plan your day and perform at least one action every day that will help you reach your goal. You will see that the goal is quite achievable. As a result, it will be easier for you to move forward with each passing day.
